Happy 17th Anniversary to Us!

After being married for 17 years, we know that it's less important to celebrate the day but every day that follows. On that note, we ended up celebrating our wedding anniversary 2 weeks after the actual day with a themed fine dining dinner at Preludio called "Chapter 2: Time".

This was definitely one of the most memorable dinners particularly because the theme was so appropriate for us that it gave me goosebumps. Having dinner at 6.30PM certainly helped since it was early enough that we were the only ones in the restaurant for the first half of our meal. The food courses were a visual feast that made you internally ooh and aah like a nerd while you try to match what the waitress explained with what your palate was sampling.

The "Time Machine" was hands-down our favourite part of the meal with all the different textures and flavours packed into such a tiny bite.

Times and Tides

It's our first time doing an inter-tidal walk with Young Nautilus. It felt like an adventure since we were out there on the beach around the time we would normally be calling it a day. Armed with torches (and Zachary with his net and stick) we walked the beach with our guide to find out what the tide left for us to find.

This was Daddy's first time with us and we were so glad to have him there.

Sea cucumber: you can only tell which is the front when it sticks its tongue out!

Out of the four of us, I think I was the most enthusiastic about spotting the creatures and knowing what they were. The boys were most enthusiastic about spotting their friends who were being guided in their own family groups. Even though we signed up together, safe distancing measures had to be enforced so separate groups and staggered timings were the next best option. Still, we did manage to take just one quick photo before grabbing a really late dinner.

Eli's First Excursion in N2

Off to FarmArt Centre he goes. After much consideration, I thought it would be a good experience for Eli to go for his first excursion this year by himself. I was worried that he'd feel like I was abandoning him by sending him off alone when there were other mummies in attendance. After explaining that the mummies have to take turns and telling him I'd try and go the next time around, he seemed to understand and went off without too much protest.

I was so very blessed that the mums who went on the excursion were so thoughtful as to send me photo updates. It really helped alleviate my anxieties and I was happy to see he enjoyed his time at "Farmer Dan's Farm". He did complain that the smell was a bit too much to bear but I already expected as much. I'm just grateful he didn't end up vomitting!

Exploring Singapore: West Coast Park

Would you believe that today was our first time ever at West Coast Park? We never really ventured far from our regular haunts and I put it down to laziness and the fact that we never think to venture that far away. Now that we have been, we're sure to go again I'm sure though this time, I'll bring a nice big picnic mat, lots of food and drinks and go EARLIER IN THE DAY!
