I forget sometimes how long we have known each other so I'm always gobsmacked by the number when we finally do the math. Always happy to have good food and good company especially when the company you keep knows all the good places to dine! 

YUMS: French Fold

Had a really nice belated breakfast treat from Weyyean at French Fold this morning. We split a sweet and savoury crepe between us. These thin little things are deceptively filling so while I harboured ideas of ordering a third just after we gave the waitress our order, I was glad I didn't.

Birthday Week

It's official! I am one foot firmly on this side of 40.

Am filled with gratitude for every person who made me feel so special. I never want to take for granted these beautiful, peaceful moments spent with the ones I love so while I am not big on the fanfare and fuss, I do think the celebration is a way of giving thanks.

Not-A-Surprise Birthday Breakfast at Bacha

 

Every year, around the time we each have a birthday, we know for certain we're going to be taken to a lovely place for a special breakfast. I really loved my birthday breakfast at the beautifully decked out Bacha just because sipping fancy coffee from fancy china served up in gilded pots makes the experience that much more special. My friends had me choose my birthday present - Sweet Nocciola coffee beans ground for my French press and a pretty Tiffany blue gift tin to keep it fresh.

Back to School BBQ 2020

 

Times and Tides

It's our first time doing an inter-tidal walk with Young Nautilus. It felt like an adventure since we were out there on the beach around the time we would normally be calling it a day. Armed with torches (and Zachary with his net and stick) we walked the beach with our guide to find out what the tide left for us to find. 

This was Daddy's first time with us and we were so glad to have him there.

Out of the four of us, I think I was the most enthusiastic about spotting the creatures and knowing what they were. The boys were most enthusiastic about spotting their friends who were being guided in their own family groups. Even though we signed up together, safe distancing measures had to be enforced so separate groups and staggered timings were the next best option. Still, we did manage to take just one quick photo before grabbing a really late dinner.

Back to School BBQ 2016

We had our first Back to School BBQ get-together at the new place. The function room was perfect since the kids needed plenty of space to run around without the rest of us having heart attacks every couple of minutes. These gatherings always make me so very grateful for God's provision and His blessing. My friends have become like family and we are all blessed with so much of everything. I hope to keep this feeling in my heart all year round.
